H&N Gestion is an independent research and advisory firm based in Yamanashi, Japan. We study Japanese companies, industries, regional economies and capital markets, and provide practical advisory support to selected businesses.
Much of Japan's financial, consulting and research activity is concentrated in Tokyo. We have deliberately chosen to work from outside the capital. We believe that distance from the center can provide a different perspective on Japan: one that takes into account regional economies, local businesses, demographics, industrial structure and the realities outside metropolitan Tokyo.
We provide independent research and practical advisory support to businesses, with particular attention to regional Japan, tourism and internationalisation.
We advise restaurants and hospitality businesses seeking to better serve international visitors to Japan.
Our approach is not limited to literal translation. We consider how a menu, service flow and restaurant concept are understood by guests who may have little prior knowledge of Japanese cuisine or local dining conventions. The objective is to make the restaurant easier to understand and use while preserving its identity and character.
Our work is based on primary information, fundamental analysis and independent judgment. We aim to look at Japan from a broader vantage point rather than simply reproducing the prevailing consensus of its financial center.
We are based in Yamanashi by choice. We aim to demonstrate that serious research, financial analysis and advisory work can be built outside Tokyo, and to contribute to the development of knowledge, professional services and business activity in regional Japan.
